Princess Charlotte’s first tiara is set to have a strong connection to her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, a jeweller has claimed.

Tiaras have long been a staple of princesses in the Royal Family, and Charlotte will soon be the next to don one for the first time.

While many options are available, jewellery maker Anna Byers believes there is only one clear choice for the young royal.

Speaking exclusively to GB News, she said: “Princess Charlotte will most likely wear her first tiara at 18.

“I would anticipate her choosing the Cartier Halo Tiara, which her mother, the Princess of Wales, wore for her own first tiara moment at her 2011 wedding to the Prince of Wales.

“The tiara also has a lovely royal history - it was an 18th birthday present to the late Queen from her parents and has often been loaned to younger royals, including Princess Margaret and Princess Anne in their youth.

“Choosing the piece would be a fitting tribute to three generations of royals!”

Last year saw Charlotte take on a more public role, with the young royal being present at various senior events throughout the year.

Most recently, she was seen along with many senior royals taking the walk to St Mary Magadelene Church on the Sandringham Estate on Christmas Day.

One moment which almost went unnoticed was Charlotte putting her arm around her big brother's back, lightly tapping it in a subtle moment of reassurance.

The move is often made by her mother, Princess Kate, with Prince William when the couple are out in public.

Royal fans picked out the moment between Charlotte and George, with one praising the young princess, saying: "Princess Charlotte is very special."

Another wrote: "Mimicking her mum with William."

She also took the time to take photographs with well-wishers who had camped overnight for a sight of the royals.

Former BBC royal correspondent, Jennie Bond, noted how the young royal handled herself on such an important day for the Firm.

She told the Mirror: “The children are an absolute delight to see at occasions like this. I think William and Catherine have done a wonderful job in acclimatising all three children to public life.

“I was struck, in particular, by how confident young Charlotte seemed on Christmas Day.

“She was launching into the crowd by herself, no longer with her mother’s guiding hand on her shoulder, chatting with the well-wishers who’d gathered.

“Bending down to shake hands with wheelchair users, and even giving one or two members of the crowd a big hug.”
