The row erupted after the publication of Fergie's emails to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie remain patrons of the Teenage Cancer Trust after their mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, was dropped by the charity and six others in the fallout from her emails to Jeffrey Epstein.

The sisters will continue their roles at the charity, despite the Teenage Cancer Trust ending its 35-year association with Sarah on Monday.

The duchess, known as Fergie, became a patron of the charity in 1990 and has supported it for decades.

Her daughters’ names remain on the list of patrons even as a growing number of organisations sever ties with their mother.

The row erupted after the publication of Sarah’s 2011 emails to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which several charities said made her position untenable.

Children’s hospice Julia’s House was the first to cut links, saying the correspondence made it “inappropriate for her to continue as a patron.”

The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, which was set up in memory of 15-year-old Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, also dropped the duchess, saying it was “disturbed” by the revelations.

In what is a particularly personal blow, given Sarah’s breast cancer diagnosis in 2023, Prevent Breast Cancer confirmed: “The Duchess of York is no longer a patron of Prevent Breast Cancer.

“We have advised her of this decision and thank her for her past support.”

A few hours later, the Children’s Literacy Charity announced it had asked her to step down, calling any continued role “inappropriate.”

The Teenage Cancer Trust then confirmed that Sarah is no longer a patron, while thanking her for her work. Beatrice and Eugenie remain supporters.

The British Heart Foundation swiftly removed Sarah’s photograph from its website and stated: “Sarah, Duchess of York, is no longer serving as an ambassador.

“We are grateful for the Duchess’ support for our work and thank her for her past efforts.”

The National Foundation For Retired Service Animals followed, saying it had “mutually agreed” with the duchess that she would “step back from her position as patron with immediate effect.”

A spokesman for Sarah declined to comment on the developments, which represent one of the most serious public setbacks she has faced in years.
