Princess Beatrice has gone into business with a senior figure at the World Economic Forum (WEF), in a move that comes alongside her growing portfolio of charitable work.

The Duke of York’s eldest daughter, who celebrated her 37th birthday on August 8, has been named as a director and 45 per cent shareholder of Purpose Economy Intelligence Ltd, a newly established company listed at Companies House.

Its purpose is described as spanning "business and domestic software development", "other information technology service activities", and "management consultancy activities".

Also holding a 45 per cent stake is Luis Alvarado Martinez, a Spanish-born executive who has worked at the WEF since 2021 as head of strategic public-private-philanthropic partnerships.

The third shareholder is Olivia “Libby” Horsley, Beatrice’s long-serving private secretary, who has advised both Beatrice and her sister Princess Eugenie since 2020. Horsley is not listed as a director.

The WEF has faced turbulence this year following various allegations against its founder and former chairman, Klaus Schwab, who has vehemently denied the accusations.

The venture comes at a time when Beatrice is balancing her commercial work with new patronages.

Earlier this year, she became patron of Borne, a charity focused on tackling the causes of premature birth.

This followed the birth of her second daughter, Athena Elizabeth Rose, who was born prematurely on January 22, 2025.

Beatrice does not receive public funding via the Sovereign Grant and has increasingly pursued private-sector roles alongside her charitable commitments.

She is also married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, a property developer catering to wealthy clients.

Princess Beatrice has taken on a series of business and charitable ventures in recent years, reflecting her position outside the core of the monarchy.

She and her sister, Princess Eugenie, both balance private careers with selected patronages.

Beatrice works in the tech and finance sector, while Eugenie has a role in the art world.

Their father, the Duke of York, stepped back from public duties in 2019.

Neither Beatrice nor Eugenie is classed as a working royal or funded by the Sovereign Grant.
