She has successfully carved out a strong reputation in business circles

Princess Beatrice’s advisory firm has seen a dramatic surge in profits, with new accounts revealing earnings of almost half a million pounds in its second year of trading.

The King’s niece, 37, established the business in 2022 under the name BY-EQ, understood to stand for Beatrice York and Emotional Quotient.

The venture reflects her long-standing interest in emotional intelligence, which she believes is an essential skill in an age increasingly dominated by artificial intelligence.

In its first year, the company posted a modest profit of £39,000, according to reports in the Mail. But figures for 2024 show an extraordinary leap, with revenues just shy of £500,000. After deducting costs of £214,615, Beatrice retained accumulated profits of £274,846.

Describing its purpose, the Princess explained that BY-EQ is “an advisory organisation focused on adding more exceptional emotional intelligence in an age of artificial intelligence”.

With more than a decade of experience as a private equity analyst and consultant, she has successfully carved out a reputation in business circles as a trusted adviser.

Her growing success comes at a time when her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, has been losing charitable support.

Eight organisations have cut ties with the Duchess after an email she wrote to Jeffrey Epstein in 2011 surfaced last month.

In it, she referred to the convicted sex offender as a “steadfast friend” and said she “humbly apologised” for criticising him publicly.

The disclosure has caused a significant backlash, leading to charities withdrawing her patronage and ambassadorships.

While her mother faces renewed scrutiny, Beatrice’s professional star is rising.

Her career trajectory stands in stark contrast to her father, the Duke of York, who was stripped of public duties and has been financially cut off by King Charles over his connections to Epstein.

Beatrice balances her work with family life. She has two daughters, Sienna, born in 2021, and Athena, born in January 2025, with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.

Edoardo, 41, is a property developer whose company Banda specialises in high-end projects.

This year, Banda branched into luxury aviation, designing bespoke interiors for private jets. Explaining the appeal of the new market, he said: “It’s escapism. When you’re in the air, there are no people constantly asking you questions or children hanging off you.”

As the Duchess of York navigates reputational challenges, her eldest daughter is consolidating her position as a credible businesswoman whose company is delivering impressive results in a competitive sector.
