William and Kate were recently celebrated for their 'modern royal agenda'

Prince William is continuing to foster a strong connection with the British public as his brother Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are struggling to build support.

The 42-year-old heir to the throne was recently ranked as the most popular living member of the Royal Family.

William is favoured by 75 per cent of the British public, according to the YouGov poll, with his wife Princess Kate close behind.

The impressive result prompted leading royal commentator Jennie Bond to observe that the Prince of Wales is “clearly doing something right.”

His informal, approachable way of going about his work is resonating with the public,” she praised.

The former BBC royal correspondent highlighted William’s modern approach to his royal duties that helped him stand out for his predecessors.

"Even the way he talks is different to previous generations. He's well spoken, of course, but not overly posh. He dresses well, of course, but is quite often wearing jeans and trainers,” Bond explained.

Along with his modern style, the expert also celebrated William's lack of barriers when it came to interacting with the British public.

Bond declared: “He'll pose for selfies with the crowds; he'll even work the camera for them if they get flustered!"

The news comes as William and Kate were praised for their “modern royal agenda” in TIME100's Most Influential People in Philanthropy for 2025, a list which did not feature Harry and Meghan.

Their recent polling success and glowing expert analysis comes in stark contrast to the gloomy outlook for Harry and Meghan.

In the poll, the Duchess of Sussex sank to her lowest levels since 2017 – with only 20 per cent of Britons regarding her positively against the 65 per cent that saw her negatively.

The data showed a dramatic decline since 2019, where 55 per cent of the public viewed her favourably.

Harry too has suffered in popularity, especially since his explosive interview with the BBC.

The YouGov royal favourability tracker showed only 27 per cent of Britons held a positive opinion of the Prince.

A significant 63% viewed Harry negatively, which marked his worst polling results since early 2023.

The duke is now said to have grown "increasingly weary" of he and Meghan’s declining popularity and set to try and mend the state of affairs..

“The recent polling showing that (Harry) is one of the lowest-regarded royals means he has at last conceded there's nowhere to go but up,” a source told the Mail on Sunday.

They added: "There's humility there. It's time to streamline his operation and find a new way of getting his message across. Service above oneself is the cornerstone of everything he does."

Harry and Meghan, who stepped down as senior royals in 2020, are now implementing dramatic changes to their operational structure to overcome their recent setbacks.

The Sussexes are creating their own 'royal' household structure as they continue to separate their professional lives.

This new arrangement dramatically revamps their staff structure to mirror the hierarchical system that has underpinned the monarchy for decades.
