Prince Harry is facing warnings that any involvement in a Netflix documentary about Princess Diana could further damage his already fragile relationship with Prince William.
The Mail reported that if the Duke of Sussex agrees to take part in the project, it would likely “torch” efforts at reconciliation between the brothers.
It was previously revealed that Harry was believed to be considering such a documentary as part of his and Meghan Markle’s renewed deal with Netflix.
The programme has been discussed as a potential release in 2027, marking the 30th anniversary of Diana’s death in Paris in 1997.

The Sussexes’ new arrangement with Netflix operates as a first-look deal, giving the streaming platform priority access to their proposals.
According to the Sun, the idea of a Diana documentary emerged during discussions for the agreement.
One media insider suggested Netflix would be eager to secure the project, telling the outlet: “If Harry wants to do it, then Netflix will bite his hand off.”
For the streaming giant, a Diana film fronted by Harry would represent another major Sussex production.
While Harry & Meghan in 2022 drew huge global viewing figures, no subsequent release has matched that audience success.
Harry has previously honoured his mother through television. In 2017, he and William appeared together in Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy and Diana, 7 Days, which featured personal interviews and previously unseen family material.
Both documentaries attracted millions of viewers and were warmly received.
In his memoir Spare, Harry wrote candidly about the trauma of losing Diana at the age of 12, recalling the pain of walking behind her coffin and admitting he once imagined she had gone into hiding.
LATEST ROYAL NEWS:
Representatives for the Duke and Duchess have so far declined to comment on the latest speculation.
The couple’s updated Netflix partnership also covers a number of confirmed projects. A second series of Meghan’s lifestyle programme, With Love, Meghan, premiered on August 26, with a festive special scheduled for December.
Another confirmed production is Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within, a short documentary about Ugandan orphans affected by the HIV/Aids epidemic.
Netflix is also continuing to cover operational costs for the Sussexes’ Archewell Productions company, including office space and staff.
