A source claimed that Harry not being 'afforded the same level of security' as other royals caused the clash

Prince Harry's trip to Toronto was announced while Prince William is in Brazil for "security and protection" reasons, a source has claimed.

It is understood that the events for the Duke of Sussex's visit to Canada were planned nearly a year ago, with a date set by the charity True Patriot Love.

Speaking to Hello, a source suggested: "[Harry] is not afforded the same level of security and protection as other 'working' members of the Royal Family."

The source added that advice from private security advisors and the event's security team provided guidance about when trips can be announced.

The Duke of Sussex's Toronto itinerary will take place during Remembrance week as he plans to spend Remembrance Sunday in the Canadian hotspot.

His engagement includes meeting ex-servicemen, current military personnel and defence-related charities.

Prince Harry's spokesman highlighted Toronto's significance for the duke, with it hosting the Invictus Games in 2017.

It is also the city where Harry made his first public appearance with his now-wife, Meghan Markle.

The same day that Harry is out in Canada, William will join Sir Keir Starmer at the Cop30 summit, on behalf of his father, King Charles.

William arrived in Brazil today, ahead of the 2025 Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony, set to take place on November 5.

The Prince of Wales will deliver a speech on behalf of his father, highlighting the urgent need for climate action.
