The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have teased big projects for 2024

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have “failed in Hollywood”, according to a royal commentator, as the couple are said to be scrambling for new deals.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s lucrative Spotify deal was axed last year after they only produced one series named Archetypes.

Royal author Tom Bower opined: “They’ve got no new income streams, no new companies - everything they’ve attempted to do to relaunch themselves I think in the end has been utterly unsuccessful and has failed.

“There’s nothing of credibility there, but they are putting a good face on it.

“They have failed in Hollywood.”

Bower claimed that the Duchess of Sussex is “desperate” to find a new role, which explains why she has been “so silent” in recent months.

He also suggested to Closer that the “desperation” will “get worse” in 2024.

This comes as Meghan, 42, recently attended the Variety magazine’s Power of Women event, where she teased upcoming projects.

At the time, she said: “We have so many exciting things on the slate.

“I can’t wait until we can announce them.

“We’re just really proud of what we are creating, and my husband is loving it too.”

Bill Simmons, the Spotify executive, labelled Harry and Meghan “f***ing grifters” at the time the couple's streaming deal was axed.

Also, in 2022, Meghan’s animated series Pearl was quietly dropped by Netflix.

The show, which the Duchess of Sussex was creating through Archewell Productions, was in the development stage.

It was dropped as part of cutbacks amid a collapse in subscribers, according to reports.
