The Duke of Sussex has made it clear he wants to spend more time in the UK

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's return to Europe has "changed everything" for the Royal Family, sources have claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex travelled to France for Paris Fashion Week with no prior warning, marking her first visit to the continent since 2023.

Speaking about her presence, a spokesman told GB News: "Meghan, Duchess of Sussex attended the Balenciaga show in Paris on Saturday night in support of Pierpaolo Piccioli, who recently assumed the role of Creative Director for the House.

"This marks her first time back to the shows in over a decade. Over the years, the Duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo.

"They have worked closely together collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage.

"She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different.

"This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga."

Meghan, 44, was pictured greeting European celebrities such as Dame Anna Wintour, filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, and Mr Piccioli himself.

The visit came a month after her husband, Prince Harry, returned to the UK for several charity-based events.

The Duke of Sussex also reunited with his father, King Charles, for the first time since February 2024.

The father and son duo had tea at Clarence House, His Majesty's London home, before Harry dashed off to his next engagement at the Gherkin.

Prince Harry has made it clear that he wants to spend more time in the UK and bring his children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, to the country.

When asked if he would like to return to the UK with his children, Harry told the Guardian: "Yes I would.

"This week has definitely brought that closer."

With both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex making sporadic returns to Europe, royal courtiers have been left feeling uneasy, according to sources.

A former royal courtier told the Daily Beast: "If they really plan to spend more time here, it changes everything.

"It puts them back in the frame, and that’s not what anyone expected."

Prince Harry, 41, and Meghan stepped down as working royals in 2020 after expressing a desire to become "financially independent".

The Sandringham Summit that subsequently followed resulted in the Sussexes moving permanently to the US with their son, Prince Archie.

The couple were no longer allowed to represent Queen Elizabeth II through their endeavours, despite wanting to be "half-in, half-out" royals.

Harry and Meghan were originally thought to move to Canada, but eventually settled in Montecito, Santa Barbara.

They welcomed their daughter, Princess Lilibet, on June 4, 2021.

In 2022, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the UK for charity-based events, when the late Queen sadly died.

Meghan has not returned to the UK since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, with the Sussexes' taxpayer-funded police security being downgraded after stepping back as working royals.
