Meghan Markle appeared to make something of a statement as she travelled to Paris Fashion Week over the weekend to support the fashion house Balenciaga.
The Duchess of Sussex was in the French capital to support Italian designer Pierpaolo Piccioli in his debut show as creative director of the exclusive brand.
During her visit, Meghan fronted the Balenciaga's social media campaign promoting their upcoming Spring/Summer 2026 womenswear collection.
She appeared first among a carousel of models shared on Instagram, wearing an all-white ensemble and set against a grey concrete backdrop featuring the fashion house’s branding.

A spokesman for the Duchess confirmed that Meghan “attended the Balenciaga show in Paris on Saturday night in support of Pierpaolo Piccioli, who recently assumed the role of Creative Director for the House”.
"This marks her first time back to the shows in over a decade. Over the years, the Duchess has worn a number of designs by Pierpaolo.
"They have worked closely together, collaborating on design for key moments on the world stage," the statement continued.
"She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no different.

"This evening reflects the culmination of many years of artistry and friendship, reflected in her support for his new creative chapter at Balenciaga," Meghan’s spokesman concluded.
Even with the duchess and Mr Pierpaolo’s previous collaborations, her choice of Balenciaga could be perceived as a snub to the UK.
The fashion house was founded in France, where it continues to operate out of, by Spanish designer Cristóbal Balenciaga in 1919.
With its new fashion designer, the exclusive label now boasts strong links to three European nations with the notable exception of Britain.

Fans evidently ignored the potential slight as they flooded the comments of Balenciaga’s post with positive responses.
“A flawless debut for Paris Fashion Week! Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, radiates elegance and modern grace. Bravo @pppiccioli + Balenciaga,” one wrote.
Other praised Meghan for “dominating” the Parisian fashion scene.
While appearing in Paris, the duchess wore two monochromatic outfits beginning with an all-white ensemble featuring an oversized cape, crisp button-down shirt and coordinating trousers.

She complemented the look with black pointed-toe shoes and a polished updo.
It was this striking ensemble she was seen sporting on Balenciaga’s social media post.
Later on Saturday evening, she transformed into an equally striking black dress with a cape elegantly positioned over one shoulder, maintaining her sleek hairstyle and dark heels.
