DVLA records confirm that the registration plates are no longer active

Prince Andrew has removed his distinctive Duke of York registration plates from his fleet of luxury cars, marking another step in his withdrawal from public life, according to new claims.

The 65-year-old prince has chosen not to display the personalised plates on his recently acquired £115,000 Range Rover.

This development follows his decision earlier this month to voluntarily relinquish his Duke of York title.

The move came after fresh revelations emerged about his communications with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, contradicting his previous claims of severing contact.

The prince faces renewed scrutiny following allegations published in Virginia Giuffre's posthumous memoir. He has consistently maintained his innocence regarding any misconduct.

As reported by the Mirror, DVLA records confirm that the registration plates AY02 DOY and AY03 DOY are no longer linked to any vehicle.

The prince previously displayed these plates on two dark green Range Rovers, with the AY02 DOY plate adorning vehicles he owned over several years.

Last November, he sold one Range Rover for £50,000 after accumulating only 11,000 miles in three years.

His replacement vehicle, an automatic Range Rover costing £115,000, now bears the registration KN74 EFK rather than his former personalised plate.

The AY03 DOY registration previously featured on his £220,000 green Bentley, which he drove to his granddaughter Sienna Mapelli Mozzi's christening in 2022.

DVLA searches indicate this plate "can no longer be found" in their system and remains unregistered to any vehicle.

The prince and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, 66, are understood to be engaged in "advanced talks" about departing their 30-room Windsor residence.

Both are seeking alternative accommodation on the Windsor Estate, with the prince reportedly interested in Frogmore Cottage, previously occupied by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Sarah has apparently shown interest in Adelaide Cottage, the former residence of Prince William and Princess Kate.

Reports emerged suggesting the Prince of Wales had pressured his cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, regarding their father's residence situation.

However, sources close to the Prince of Wales have refuted these allegations.

They confirmed no such meeting occurred between William and his cousins, and he never threatened to revoke their royal titles if their father remained at Royal Lodge.
