The 47-year-old outlined his favourite part of the Magic Millions week

Mike Tindall shared his excitement following as he joined his wife Zara in Australia for Magic Millions week.

Taking to Instagram, the former England rugby star detailed the first thing he will be doing when journeying down to the Gold Coast.

He told his followers: "It's been a long time since I've been in the sea, I can't wait."

Mike, 47, described what his favourite part of the Magic Million programme is and what is coming up for people to get engaged with.

The 47-year-old said: "There is so much going on this year, we have three million TAB Magic Million sunlight race, which I can't wait for.

"We have 13.25 Magic Millions raceday. I personally have got four horses in the sales this year, which I am absolutely pumped about, and we haven't even talked about the showjumping and polo.

"My favourite part of Magic Millions week is the iconic horse exhibition run down the beach. This year, the barrier draw is done at Kurrawa Beach, Broadbeach. There is so much going on, please come and join us."

The former England rugby star spoke to 7 Horse Racing alongside his wife ahead of the exciting week.

Mike joked that his role at the Magic Millions on the Gold Coast is to sit in a sidecar and "throw in innuendos" while Zara competes in showjumping and polo.

Asked by presenter Emma Freedman what he would be doing while his wife competes, Mike replied: "I just sit in Hamish's sidecar and listen to him talk, and then throw in innuendos about what he can do with a stick. But yeah, otherwise, that's my job.”

As he spoke, Zara appeared to find the joke slightly too much for daytime television.

In the clip, she glanced away and laughed, then turned back to her husband with a deadpan look, narrowed eyes, and a quick tongue poke, as if teasing him about the comment.

Hamish McLachlan is a well-known presence at the Magic Millions carnival and has hosted coverage for 7's horse racing broadcasts, frequently appearing at the festival's racing and polo events.

The couple are in Queensland as returning ambassadors for the 2026 Magic Millions season, which includes racing, sales and the headline polo and showjumping fixture at Doug Jennings Park in Main Beach.

Event co-owner Katie Page-Harvey confirmed the ambassador group's return for 2026 in a statement released last year.

"I am thrilled to confirm the renewals of our entire Magic Millions ambassador family: Zara and Mike Tindall, Billy and Nicole Slater, Nacho Figueras and Delfina Blaquier, and Hamish McLachlan," she said.

The Tindalls' trip began with media duties and a sporting outing, with 7 Horse Racing sharing footage of the pair speaking with Ms Freedman after arriving on the Gold Coast.

Zara is expected to balance a packed schedule across the festival, combining competitive appearances with ambassador commitments.

When asked if she would be "show jumping again and playing polo", Zara replied: "I'm doing both again. And yes, I'm in the Off The Track class, which is incredible. I'm jumping in that class, which is great.

"And then polo in the afternoon against Nacho and Delphina, the other ambassadors. So it's a fun-packed day. It's a very busy day. But it's incredible, and people get to be right up close to the horses."
