The royal couple are due to visit the US from April 27 to April 30

The First Lady, Melania Trump, has teased the upcoming royal visit from King Charles and Queen Camilla with a behind-the-scenes video of preparations at the White House.

The couple are due to visit the US at the end of April, having officially accepted Donald Trump's State Visit invite.

It will be Mr Trump's first state dinner at the White House during his second term and mark His Majesty's first trip to America as Britain's monarch.

Mrs Trump, 55, posted the video on the First Lady's social media account, which has been viewed over 100,000 times.

It featured black and white footage of the First Lady going through papers, discussing with staff and organising how she plans the visit to go.

The video is captioned: "Precision in every detail," with an American and British flag and the date of the state dinner, April 28.

Mr Trump has leveraged his scheduled visit to advance his White House ballroom project, ridiculing past presidents who held state dinners on the South Lawn in tents.

The US President told reporters on Tuesday: "Many of you have gone to the tent when we have a President of a big country or somebody being honoured of great distinction.

"And they sit in a tent, and if it rains, you get soaked, because the grass gets wet here very fast."

Bringing up the upcoming state visit, Mr Trump said: "We don't want him to sit in a pool of water."

Earlier this week, Buckingham Palace confirmed that the King and Queen will head over to the States, coinciding with America's 250th anniversary of independence.

Sir Keir Starmer will be hoping the State Visit will help improve the special relationship between the UK and the US following a prolonged period of tension between the Prime Minister and the President.

A statement from Buckingham Palace said: "Their Majesties' programme will celebrate the historic connections and the modern bilateral relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States, marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence."

The Palace stated that specific dates would be announced closer to the trip. However, just hours later, Mr Trump appeared to confirm the dates in a post on Truth Social.

The programme will include a state dinner at the White House and an address to Congress.

President Trump revealed that the state dinner would take place during a press conference last week.

President Trump told GB News regarding the monarch: "He is a friend of mine, he is a great gentleman. As you know, he honoured me and our country. We had an amazing time.

"I have known him as Prince Charles, I know him as King Charles, I am proud of him.

"He is going to be here very soon, we are going to have a state dinner, it is going to be great."
