Royal officials indicated that further details regarding the itinerary would be shared next month

President Donald Trump has seemingly disclosed the precise dates for King Charles and Queen Camilla's upcoming state visit to America, despite Buckingham Palace opting to keep this information under wraps.

The US President took to his Truth Social platform this afternoon to announce that the royal couple would arrive between April 27 and 30.

The Palace, by contrast, confirmed only that the visit would take place in late April, stating that detailed programme information would be released at a later date.

The official statement from Buckingham Palace emphasised that Their Majesties' programme would honour both the longstanding historical ties and the contemporary bilateral relationship between Britain and the United States.

The visit has been timed to coincide with the 250th anniversary of American independence, a milestone the Palace described as central to the trip's significance.

Royal officials indicated that further details regarding the itinerary would be shared next month, declining to provide specific scheduling information at this stage.

In his Truth Social post, Mr Trump wrote: "Melania and I are pleased to announce that Their Majesties, the King and Queen of the United Kingdom, will visit the United States for a historic state visit from 27-30 April, which will include a beautiful banquet dinner at the White House on the evening of 28 April."

The President added that the occasion would be particularly meaningful given America's 250th anniversary celebrations, expressing that he looked forward to seeing the King, "whom I greatly respect. It will be TERRIFIC!"

The engagement will mark the King's inaugural State Visit to America since ascending to the throne.

Following the royal couple’s time in the US, the King will travel to Bermuda without the Queen, marking his first official visit to a British Overseas Territory since becoming monarch.

During his years as Prince of Wales, King Charles visited the United States on 19 separate occasions, including a joint official tour with Camilla in 2005.

The late Queen Elizabeth II conducted four outward State Visits to America throughout her reign, travelling there in 1957, 1976, 1991 and 2007.

In the opposite direction, four US Presidents have made inward State Visits to the United Kingdom since 1952, with visits taking place in 2003, 2011, 2019 and most recently in 2025.
