Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's latest move as a royal couple has been branded "chilling" by GB News host Ben Leo, following reports of a major change for the Sussex family.
The Duke of Sussex is thought to have consulted his uncle, Earl Charles Spencer, about the prospect of changing his surname to Spencer.
Prince Harry changing his name would see his and Meghan Markle’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, also change their names to Spencer.
Discussing the reports on GB News, Mail on Sunday's Editor-at-Large Charlotte Griffiths questioned if the name change was a "commercial" and "brand" move, orchestrated by Meghan Markle.

Sharing more detail on the reports, Griffiths explained: "He wanted to change his name to Spencer, and he approached his uncle and said, I want to drop the Mountbatten-Windsor name, which was the name given to him, and it means a lot to the Royal Family, that surname.
"But he for some reason wants to get rid of it. He asked his uncle and his uncle very wisely said, 'this is a terrible idea and it's legally fraught', just don't do it."
Highlighting the connection between Princess Diana and the name Spencer, Griffiths suggested the move may be due to Harry feeling "more like a Spencer" since leaving the Royal Family.
She added: "His uncle is Princess Diana's brother, so I feel like he must have said, 'I feel like I'm more of a Spencer, I want to take your surname on'. And his uncle had to say, look, this is this is for the birds, this is madness."
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Questioning whether Meghan Markle may have had a part to play in the move, Griffiths told host Ben Leo that Meghan may have been angling for a "Spencer brand", and may have wanted their daughter Lilibet to "be known as Diana Spencer".
Griffiths said: "I can't think of another reason why you'd want to suddenly become a Spencer. It's quite a serious title, Mountbatten-Windsor, it makes you very closely associated with the Royal family.
"It could well be because it would really hurt his father's feelings, but it's Archie and Lilibet's surname. Lilibet's full name is Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, so if her surname was Spencer, it would become Lilibet Diana Spencer.
"So one wonders whether she quite wanted her daughter to be sort of known as Diana Spencer, the new Princess of Wales."

Reacting to Griffiths's theory, Ben said it would be "chilling" if Meghan did decide to rebrand Lilibet to become the "new Diana Spencer".
Ben admitted: "That's quite chilling for me."
Griffiths then added: "The whole thing is a bit bizarre. The other thing is it could be something to do with marketing, because they're not allowed to market the royal name.
"They tried to set up a website called Sussex Royal and they were told, no way, you can't be putting royal names on jams.
"So I just wonder whether they were trying to angle for a Spencer brand or something."
