Meghan Markle is said to be “taking a back seat” on Prince Harry’s "sensitive" row with his former charity Sentebale, a royal commentator has suggested.
The Duke of Sussex has been embroiled in an acrimonious public dispute with the African-based organisation, which led to be and other trustees board members earlier this year.
The conflict, which erupted earlier this year, involved claims of bullying, harassment, misogyny, and misconduct, which Prince Harry and other trustees were later cleared of in a Charity Commission report.

However, the findings acknowledged that several people involved felt they had been mistreated, and that those feelings should not be dismissed.

The public feud between Harry and Sentebale’s former chairwoman, Dr Sophie Chandauka, is believed to have caused the Duke much consternation.
Despite his distress, Meghan has not made any public statement about the dispute which veteran royal commentator believed was a very deliberate decision.
“This is a very sensitive issue all round. Sentebale was Harry’s charity from the start, along with his co-founder, Prince Seeiso,” she began.
Ms Bond reckoned that the nature of the allegations lodged by Dr Chandauka would complicated any potential interjection from the Duchess.

“This is a very sensitive issue all round. Sentebale was Harry’s charity from the start, along with his co-founder, Prince Seeiso,” she began.
Ms Bond reckoned that the nature of the allegations lodged by Dr Chandauka would complicated any potential interjection from the Duchess.
“The allegations of misogyny and misogynoir - both discounted by the charity commission - make this an even more sensitive issue for Meghan to become involved with,” the expert observed.
"So I think she has wisely taken a back seat on this and left it to her husband.

However, Ms Bond was convinced Meghan would have “supported and comforted him” her husband in private.
She also felt that the couple would be in concert on the descsion for Meghan to remain silent on Sentebale.
“I think Harry will completely understand that it’s not her place to get involved in a public row with his charity,” Ms Bond told The Mirror.
It recently emerged that the African based charity had slashed its UK workforce to just one employee.

A redundancy notice indicated the organisation "does not have" donor funding and was entering "retrenchment".
Among those dismissed was the charity's global head of finance and compliance, The Times reported.
For their part, Sentebale told GB News that the recent layoffs of were part of a "global restructuring" that had been discussed in early 2024 and announced in December of that year.
They explained it was intended to: "Improve efficiencies, transition senior executive roles to Southern Africa and to respond to changing service delivery demands."
To that end, they said that the restructuring was prompted by "increasing uncertainty relating to international donor funding specifically (eg USAID) and uncertainty relating to events such as polo."
