America “would love” to send Meghan Markle and Prince Harry back to the UK, a commentator has claimed.

The Sussexes have been through a tumultuous period after their decision to up sticks and move across the pond in 2020.

While they have been able to enjoy a new sense of independence, the couple have faced major criticism for some of the projects they have undertaken as a result.

According to Salem News Channel host Julie Hartman, Americans have grown weary of the Sussexes’ antics.

She told GB News’ Darren Grimes at the ARC Conference 2023 that America “would love” to send the couple back to the UK.

While quizzing Hartman about the issues California is currently facing, Grimes playfully remarked the problems are “not just because Harry and Meghan moved there”.

Responding, Hartman said: “By the way, we would love to send Harry and Meghan back.

“I don’t know why they came to us. We will gladly ship them back to the UK.”

The couple now reside in California after they stepped back from official royal duties in 2020.

They moved to the US with their son Archie, who was less than a year old at the time.

They later welcomed their daughter Lilibet in 2021.

Their activities since the move have often been shrouded in controversy with tell-all memoirs and interviews offering a spotlight on the couple’s strained relationship with the royal household.

Productions such as Family Guy and South Park have mocked the couple, the most recent being the former.

Speaking on GB News, American blogger Perez Hilton claimed the couple “need to cultivate their celebrity” across the pond, as they are “not royals to us”.

He told Stephen Dixon and Ellie Costello they are “like the Kardashians”, as they are “famous because of their names”.

Weighing in on the discussion was former Labour adviser Scarlett Mccgwire, who said the couple “don’t know what they are”.

Picking up on Hilton’s point about the couple being similar to the Kardashians, she said: “The problem with Harry and Meghan is they don’t know what they are, the Kardashians are very clear about what they are.”

She added the Kardashians are “rather better” at making money, saying they are “more street smart”.
