Meghan Markle is struggling to get her podcast going and A-list celebrities not having time for the Duchess is one of the reasons why, according to a royal commentator.

Kinsey Schofield joined Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster on GB News to discuss Meghan’s venture which has reportedly been pushed back.

She says the Duchess does not have as much “pressure” on her to release the podcast as she did while signed with Spotify, but a lack of available dates for her prospective guests is proving to be a stumbling block.

“Lemonade Media is apparently putting her new podcast on hold until next year at the earliest”, said Schofield.

“They’re afraid that her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, and her new Netflix series could conflict with the promotion that they’d really like to go into this new podcasting venture.

“There is, I would suspect, not a lot of money on the line here or there would be pressure and bigger expectations for Meghan to execute this.

“We saw that with Spotify. There was a countdown clock. When they only got 13 episodes out of the Sussexes, they gave them the chop.

“There are sources telling the Daily Mail that Meghan has a list of very high profile guests scheduled to participate in her new podcast, but does she?

“Very high profile guests usually have their diaries filled months in advance.”

Schofield couldn’t resist a dig at the Duchess, adding: “Meghan should know, she used to be that [high profile].”

Eamonn waded in on the discussion to point out that Meghan is an executive producer on the new show, something that “doesn’t really impress” him.

“It seems to come with the territory”, he added.

Schofield said the lack of producers compared to what she had working on the Spotify podcast could be a wise strategy call as she looks to avoid the problem of “too many cooks”.

“During the last series, there were 17 producers and executive producers”, she said.

“I expect she’s probably going to have less cooks in the kitchen, because I think that was one of the reasons it took so long to get content out.

“Too many people had a say in that final product.”
