The Duchess of Sussex has launched several scathing digs at the Royal Family since stepping down from the monarchy

Meghan Markle has been tipped not to attend King Charles' Coronation by Princess Diana's former butler due to being uncomfortable with facing the Royal Family.

Paul Burrell said Prince Harry may come to the ceremony alone if Meghan Markle chooses not to attend.

He told Closer: "It's likely to be incredibly uncomfortable for them if they attend, particularly Meghan.

"Are they prepared to face the music?

"I don't think Meghan's brave or strong enough to be there - she'd have to look in the eyes of a family she's pushed under the bus.

"But I think Harry may come alone and she's probably told him she won't be able to be by his side with him if he does attend."

It comes as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry released a statement regarding the Coronation after they received an invitation from King Charles.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed they have been invited to the historic event.

However, the couple has refused to say whether they will attend.

A spokesperson for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex told GB News: "I can confirm The Duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty's office regarding the coronation.

An immediate decision on whether The Duke and Duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time."

Meghan and Harry will also be allowed to stay in Frogmore Cottage until after the Coronation.

Meghan and Prince Harry were first told they would need to leave the property just one day after the Duke of Sussex's autobiography was released.

Harry's memoir Spare contained multiple attacks on senior members of the Royal Family including King Charles's wife Camilla.

It is thought that the Duke of Sussex blasting his stepmother publicly violated a red line for the King.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes confirmed the couple have been asked to leave their UK base, saying: "We can confirm The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been requested to vacate their residence at Frogmore Cottage."
