The staffing imbalance has led some to question which team drives the creative direction of "As Ever"

Meghan Markle has disclosed that Netflix has assigned 80 staff members to work on her lifestyle programme "As Ever", whilst she operates with what she calls a "small and mighty team".

The revelation emerged during her appearance on "Aspire with Emma Grede" on June 17, where the Duchess of Sussex discussed her business ventures.

The significant difference in team sizes between the streaming service and Meghan's own office has prompted speculation about which party holds greater influence over the programme's direction.

Meghan acknowledged that partnering with Netflix elevated her business to "a completely different level", though she noted there was no pre-existing brand framework.

She explained that unlike other partnerships, her arrangement with Netflix required developing the brand "as we are going" rather than working with an established concept.

Meghan also revealed the complex scheduling demands of her Netflix commitment, stating: "I wrapped season one of my Netflix series. Still had to promote it, still had to be in the edits for season two."

Her team was simultaneously managing "pre-production of one season while we were doing post-production of the other."

During the same interview, Meghan confirmed that her podcast "Confessions of a Female Founder" will not return for a second series, despite its widespread popularity.

The 43-year-old duchess launched the programme in April through Lemonada Media, featuring conversations with prominent female entrepreneurs including Whitney Wolfe Herd, Jamie Kern Lima, and Tina Knowles.

When Emma Grede noted she had been "hearing about that podcast everywhere" and questioned the decision to stop, Meghan responded simply: "Have to."

She acknowledged the enthusiasm for another series, stating: "I love that there's so much excitement and desire for another season, but I need to focus on my business."

She explained that the podcast had served its purpose during the initial stages of her business development: "As I knew I was in this building phase of my business, what an amazing opportunity to pull back the curtain and let people see what's happening at the start."
