Meghan Markle’s upcoming glitzy Los Angeles bash, which will clash with Trooping the Colour on June 14, has been put on by a close ally of hers, it has emerged.
The Duchess of Sussex is set to be recognised during the Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County's Night of Wonder gala on the same evening as King Charles’ birthday celebrations.
At the event, Meghan will speak after being celebrated for her work to advance community wellbeing and expand opportunity, especially for underserved communities.
“We are proud to honour Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, a native Angeleno, whose work to advance community wellbeing and expand opportunity aligns with our equity-focused approach,” Lori Bettison-Varga, the President and Director of the Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County, said.

However, Rick Genow, a long-time friend and business partner of the duchess, has been revealed as one of the prestigious event's key organisers.
The film producer and his wife, Mary Fulginiti-Genow, is on a list of co-chairs of the upcoming Night of Wonder event.
Genow has been a close ally of Meghan for some time as a member of the elite Hollywood team that has remained by her side since stepping away from the Royal Family, the Daily Mail reports.
The 43-year-old duchess has been slowly increasing her public profile in Los Angeles events since relocating to California in 2020 with Prince Harry and their two children.

She recently launched her Confessions of a Female Founder podcast, her Netflix show With Love, Meghan, and her As Ever lifestyle brand, which sold out its first products in under an hour.
Meghan and Prince Harry were also recently pictured alongside Genow in a £11,000-a-night private box while spectating LA Lakers basketball game.
It is not yet known if Harry will accompany Meghan to the black tie event.
The evening will feature immersive exhibits, live music, and dinner served in the museum's North Garden, with guests expected from across Los Angeles's cultural and philanthropic communities.

Royal fans were quick to spot the striking time conflict, with Meghan appearing at the garden-themed event in California whilst the Royal Family gathers for the King's official birthday celebrations in central London.
Trooping the Colour, the traditional military parade marking the British Sovereign's official birthday, will see senior royals unite at Buckingham Palace on the same date.
King Charles, the Princess of Wales and Prince William are expected to unite for Trooping the Colour on the same day as Meghan's outing.
The parade will begin at Buckingham Palace, proceeding along The Mall before returning to the Palace.

However, it is likely the King will be joined by Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and Sir Tim Laurence are also expected to attend.
