The Duchess of Sussex has hired a new PR guru in a bid to tackle a "popularity problem" in the UK

A royal expert has claimed that Meghan Markle faces a "huge challenge" if she wants to rebuild her reputation in the UK.

It comes as the Duchess of Sussex has hired a new PR guru to tackle a "popularity problem" in the UK.

The Duke of Sussex is expected to return to Britain this year to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

A source claimed that Harry hopes to bring Meghan and his children with him to attend a service at St Paul’s Cathedral in celebration of the games, but Meghan is hesitant.

A source told OK!: “The move to bring the Invictus Games back to Britain is seen as an opportunity for Harry and he is very keen to take it.

“He is adamant that he wants Meghan and the children to join him, but I think she may be apprehensive and I think she finds being in the UK very uncomfortable.”

Speaking to GBN America royal correspondent Pandora Forsyth said: "I think it is highly unlikely [Meghan can rebuild her UK image], due to the fact that she's married Harry and together they have annoyed the British public.

"As well as this they've annoyed the British media. We were all behind them when they got married, and then the Fabulous Four. We were behind that as well.

"But since then, ultimately it's just gone downhill and they've released secrets in quite a brash abrupt and insensitive way to the Royal Family and that will annoy people."

GBN America host Mark Dolan asked her: "Who's got a bigger PR challenge in the UK? Meghan or Harry?"

She responded: "I think the British public has seen Harry grow from a boy to a man.

"They've known him for longer and therefore they might have a bit of a soft spot for him.

Scobie also claimed that the duchess “never really felt at home” in the UK

"Unfortunately, Meghan hasn't grown up in the spotlight here and therefore she doesn't have as many favorable followers in the UK."

It was previously reported that Meghan does not want to return to the UK because she refuses “to dive back into the soap opera,” according to royal author Omid Scobie.

Scobie also claimed that the Duchess “never really felt at home” in the UK and “never wants to step foot in England again.”

A source told Ok!: “I think Meghan knows that she hasn’t been wanted in the past so why would it be any different this time around?

"The couple know they won’t be able to repair things with the Prince and Princess of Wales just yet, but there is hope that the King will be able to bring the families closer together.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if there are lots of calls and Zoom meetings planned, to try to iron these things out before the Duchess agrees to head over to England.”
