Meghan Markle’s communications team has experienced another departure, with Emily Robinson leaving her position as director of communications after merely three months.

Ms Robinson, recruited from Netflix in June, becomes the tenth publicist to exit the Sussexes' employment within a five-year period.

Her departure occurred several weeks ago, according to sources, marking an unusually brief tenure for the communications professional who had established herself in the entertainment industry before joining Harry and Meghan's California-based operation.

Ms Robinson's appointment had raised eyebrows due to her extensive involvement with The Crown, a series that portrayed several contentious storylines about the Royal Family.

The programme's final season featured particularly sensitive material, including sequences where Princess Diana's spirit conversed with the Queen and Prince Charles, which viewers considered inappropriate.

A friend of the Los Angeles-based Robinson, known for her formidable reputation at Netflix, revealed: "It was her decision.

“She left a few weeks ago. She's not a quitter, so things must have been pretty horrible for her to go."

Robinson's professional history on LinkedIn notably omits any mention of her brief stint with the couple, whilst listing her other positions.

However, a spokesman for the couple said: "Ms Robinson oversaw project-based work for a very successful season of With Love, Meghan and additional support for the production company.

"She did an excellent job and completed these projects with great success."
