As Ever's stock has not been replenished months after it sold out in moments

Meghan Markle has admitted her lifestyle brand, As Ever, is not “completely stable” as she updates fans on the future of the company.

The Duchess of Sussex discussed a “pause” after what proved to be a difficult launch her first business venture on the final episode of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.

On the latest instalment, Meghan spoke with Tina Knowles, mother of Beyoncé and Solange, about combining the worlds of motherhood and business.

As Ever, which launched in April this year, sparked fury among prospective customers as the company’s offerings sold out almost immediately after becoming available.

Many orders of the products, which included £10.80 raspberry jam, honey and herbal teas, were left unfulfilled with still no sign of a return.

“As ever, it was great. We planned for a year, and then everything sells out in 45 minutes - which yes, amazing. Great news,” Meghan began.

However, the overwhelming demand ultimately left the team behind As Ever reeling as they were conflicted on how to respond - a stressful time that left her "shedding tears".

On her podcast, the Duchess remembered not knowing what to do, questioning: “Are we going to replenish and sell out again in an hour? Or is that annoying as a customer?”

Ultimately, the team decided they needed to “pause” and simply accept: “That happened.”

As Ever’s offerings remain unavailable months after the oversubscribed launch which Meghan said was a deliberate decision to recover fully.

“Let's wait until we are completely stable and we have everything we need,” Meghan advised.

To that end, the Duchess has announced there would be no new As Ever products until the first quarter of 2026.

Following the troubled launch, Meghan had previously revealed he desire to: “Step back, gather data from the launch, and figure out exactly what As Ever could be.”

When the lifestyle brand does return, the Duchess hinted they will attempt to avoid the same overwhelming pressure and will aim to provide a more consistent stream of products.

“That scarcity mentality at the beginning might be a hook for people, not dissimilar to a sneaker drop,” she began, accepting there were some advantages to the sales mania.

However, the Duchess declared: “I don't want you to eat that jam once every six months. I want it that to be on your shelf all the time.”

Despite the difficult launch, Meghan could not resist telling Knowles that she was looking forward to possibly working with her young daughter she shares with Prince Harry, Lilibet.

“I wonder if one day I'll be in business with Lili and we'll be building something,” the Duchess dreamed.

“Yeah, that’s the best,” responded Knowles.

Knowles is currently working with her superstar daughter, Beyonce, on a new hair care brand.
