A republican campaigner has accused King Charles of being racist in a staggering rant on GB News.
Appearing on Dan Wootton Tonight with guest host Mark Dolan, anti-monarchy campaigner Riz Possnett was told to apologise after sparking fury with her controversial comments, where she dubbed Britain a “laughing stock” and accused the monarchy of “racism”.
It comes after an anti-monarchy protest was staged during Scotland’s celebration of the King’s Coronation.
The historic occasion’s dissidents were strongly outnumbered by crowds who embraced the pomp and pageantry brought about by the royal presence in Edinburgh.
Possnett, who was arrested during the furious protests in Scotland, claimed racism is enshrined in the history of the monarchy, and it is therefore not a source of pride for Britons.
“We have got better sources of pride and I personally think that an institution based on racism and imperialism is not a source of pride”, she said.
Mark Dolan offered a firm rebuttal, asking “what racism?”
Possnett responded: “That institution of monarchy is not a good source of pride and there’s a lot of people in Britain who can’t detach themselves from history because they’re still suffering from it.

“Charles does not do a good job of representing us.”
Nile Gardiner, a former aide to Margaret Thatcher, weighed in on the debate, saying her comments were “utterly stupid”.
“I want to respond to the utterly ignorant nonsense we have just heard”, he said.
“This idea that Britain is decline is utter nonsense. This idea that Britain is a racist nation is complete lies.
“The anti-British statements we have heard are utterly appalling and should be condemned.
“The monarchy is a great institution and has been in place for over 1,000 years, we should be proud of what it represents.”
Posnett, much to GB News host Mark Dolan’s fury, went one further by dubbing the Royal Family “parasites”.
She said: “There is a much better future for Britain if we kick out these parasites.”
Dolan took issue with the comment, saying: “Will you please apologise for calling King Charles and his family parasites, that’s inhuman.”
Gardiner concurred with the statement, saying Posnett was “very rude” with her assertion.
