Buckingham Palace announced in December 2025 that the monarch had responded exceptionally well to his cancer treatment following the diagnosis made public in February 2024.
This positive progress prompted his medical team to transition his care into what has been described as a "precautionary phase" at the beginning of this year, substantially reducing how often he attends treatment sessions.

The institution is celebrating three centuries of service.
The monarch spent time with patients receiving chemotherapy, as well as medical staff, including doctors and nurses, at the south London facility.
During his visit, the King was given a tour of the state-of-the-art Innovation Hub, which showcases the hospital's cutting-edge approach to cancer care.
The engagement concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque to mark the 300th anniversary of Guy's Hospital, one of the capital's most historic medical institutions.
