The Prince and Princess of Wales will attend the naming ceremony of HMS Glasgow at BAE Systems' shipyard in Scotstoun, Glasgow, this afternoon.
The Prince of Wales, known as the Duke of Rothesay when in Scotland, arrived on Wednesday to visit a community centre in Edinburgh.
The royal couple will take part in the significant ceremony for the state-of-the-art Type 26 anti-submarine frigate, with Kate serving as the ship's official Sponsor since June 2021.

Prince William spent Wednesday at Leith Community Centre in Edinburgh, highlighting the power of community-led social impact.
He arrived at Edinburgh Airport that afternoon, smiling and waving to well-wishers. The Prince appeared in good spirits following his attendance at a Buckingham Palace garden party with Kate the previous day, which marked her first appearance at such an event in two years.
During his visit to the community centre, William demonstrated his football skills in a friendly kickabout. Though he successfully aimed the ball into the goal, it reportedly took him a second attempt to score.
As Sponsor of HMS Glasgow, Princess Kate will play a central role in today's naming ceremony. The Princess was appointed to this prestigious role in June 2021 for the vessel, which is designed to provide protection to the UK's nuclear deterrent and aircraft carriers.

During today's ceremony, Kate will officially name the ship by releasing a bottle of whisky that will break against the vessel's hull, following maritime tradition. HMS Glasgow represents cutting-edge naval technology as a Type 26 anti-submarine frigate.
In 2022, the Princess met with Royal Navy sailors from HMS Glasgow at Windsor Castle to discuss the ship's progress and hear about their experiences serving in the Royal Navy.
Following the naming ceremony, the royal couple will board HMS Glasgow to meet representatives from BAE Systems who have been leading the ship's delivery. They will also engage with Royal Navy personnel who will explain the unique capabilities the vessel will offer to the UK's defence forces.
The Prince and Princess will then visit the BAE Systems' Shipbuilding Academy where they will meet apprentices and graduates.
