The service will air at 7.25pm on Wednesday

Princess Kate has sent fans into a frenzy after she teased a musical performance ahead of her Together at Christmas carol service airing on Wednesday, and she won't be alone.

The Princess of Wales first shared her musical talents in 2021, where she accompanied Tom Walker on the piano as he performed “For Those Who Can’t Be Here” during the programme.

The Kensington Palace X account revealed an image of a piano, simply captioned with a piano and musical note, which they followed with an video of fingers playing the keys next to Kate, with the caption: "A special duet."

The teaser footage has sent fans into chaos as they believe the Palace is teasing another musical performance from the princess, alongside her mystery duet partner.

One fan said: “What? What? What? Another Kate piano moment???”

Another said: “Can’t wait to see Kate play again!”

With a third adding: “Beautiful! Can’t wait!”

Kate has a background in music as she played both the piano and the flute as a child, reaching Grade 5 in both singing and music theory.

Daniel Nicholls, her piano music teacher from the ages of 11-13, said previously: “I don't think she was ever going to be a concert pianist.

“She was absolutely lovely, a really delightful person to teach the piano.

“I actually taught the whole family except Mike - Carole, Pippa and James, and again they were just absolutely lovely people, normal piano pupils,” he told the Evening Standard.

Kate made a follow-up piano performance in 2023, when she appeared in a pre-recorded segment for the opening of the Eurovision Song Contest.

The princess has passed on her love for playing the piano to Princess Charlotte, as revealed by Chinese pianist Lang Lang at the Royal Variety Performance in 2021.

He revealed: “We talked about Charlotte. Her Royal Highness talked about Charlotte's piano playing, I'm sure she’s very good.

“Her Royal Highness said to me that she said to Princess Charlotte, 'Hey, look, if you practise a lot you can be like him’.

“So I'm happy to be helpful a little bit. It's really funny, I was like, wow, I'm sure she will do well at the piano. I think she is practising.”

The Christmas Carol service took place on December 5, with around 1,600 people in attendance during the event at Westminster Abbey.

Kate played the piano during last year’s service and appears to be doing the same again.

The Princess of Wales arrived at the Abbey without her family earlier this month so that she could meet and thank some of the stars performing or helping out during the event that will air later today.
