Princes William and Princess Kate are keen to preserve 'boundaries' between family and public life

A soon-to-be neighbour of Princess Kate and Prince William has shared her worry that the Walses' new home will be "less private" than Adelaide Cottage.

The Prince and Princess of Wales and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are set to move to Forest Lodge later this year.

Forest Lodge, a 300-year-old eight-room Georgian manor house, can be found in Windsor Great Park just a short distance from Windsor Castle and the family's current abode, Adelaide Cottage.

Despite the proximity, a neighbour of the Forest Lodge has expressed fears that the move may afford the Waleses less privacy.

"I welcome them. But I hope the public allows them to live there quietly as a family," Jean Reeve, 87, said.

"It's a less private spot than their previous home, from what I know about the location.

The local continued: "I'd hate for people to always be going past and saying: ‘Oh, that's where they live’.

"They have young children after all. They deserve privacy," Mrs Reeve added.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have been said to be "very strict about their boundaries" with a keen focus on "their mental health and family life".

Mrs Reeve supported the Waleses' approach, celebrating that: "William and Kate are lovely. They're young. They're family-oriented. They're always with their children."

"It's a new style of monarchy. They'd like to be treated as normal people," she told the Daily Mail.

Another Windsor resident, 50-year-old Nicola Berry, shared her surprise at how close Forest Lodge was to Cranbourne Residential Park.

She glowed: "I heard they were moving but I didn't realise they'd be so close. Welcome, I suppose!"

Mrs Berry added: "It's funny because usually when people move to the area I recommend walks in Windsor Great Park - but that's their back garden."

Steven Scorgie, 57, who also hails from the area was thrilled with the news about the royal relocation.

"I'm happy to hear they're moving this way. It'll be nice to have some nice neighbours.

"I hope they say the same about me! I'll invite them in for a cuppa if they want," Mr Scorgie laughed.

A Kensington Palace spokesman confirmed to GB News that: "The Wales family will move house later this year."

Ahead of the Waleses' arrival, extensive exterior and interior renovations have been taking place at Forest Lodge.

The £16million property features a chandelier-lit ballroom, tennis court, Venetian windows and extensive grounds.
