Princess Kate has been praised for her attitude and demeanour, with a friend of the royal sharing how the future Queen is "very aware of what's going on" in the world.

The Princess of Wales was described as the "head girl of the royal family" by celebrity podcaster and author Giovanna Fletcher, who shared insight into Kate's character.

Mrs Fletcher, the wife of musician Tom Fletcher, has known the princess for five years and believes she will be a fantastic queen.

"She's full of heart. I think she'll be a queen who really listens, who leans in, who's very aware of what's going on - like the King with the King's Trust," the author told The Times.

She continued: "I think [Prince William and Princess Kate] are going into it with their eyes completely open.

"I don't feel like it's 'us v them'. We have to work together as a society to make that change happen [and] I think they get it.

"They understand things. And so, for that reason, I think it will be a welcome change."

Mrs Fletcher, who hosted the Princess of Wales on her Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast in 2020, revealed the Royal Family stepped in to help Kate retain her phone.

The podcaster revealed that Kate told her about the Christmas presents during an off-camera chat prior to the podcast being filmed.

Mrs Fletcher said: "She [the Princess of Wales] told me that she was notoriously bad at keeping an eye on her phone. She always loses her phone.

"All of her Christmas presents that year were related to keeping track of her phone. It was all about her not losing her phone."

It is not known what the Princess of Wales received for Christmas in 2025.
