The Princess of Wales had abdominal surgery on January 16

Princess Kate is making good progress and has returned home after undergoing successful abdominal surgery.

The royal has been recovering at The London Clinic following her operation on January 16.


Kensington Palace have provided an update on Kate's health in a new statement.

They said: "The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress.

"The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided.

"The Wales family continues to be grateful for the well wishes they have received from around the world."

King Charles is currently resting at the London Clinic following an operation to treat an enlarged prostate on Friday.

The King visited the Princess of Wales at the hospital before undergoing the procedure.

Downing Street has welcomed the news that the Princess of Wales has returned home from hospital.

The Prime Minister's spokesperson said: "That would be welcome news both to the Royal Family and I’m sure to the public more widely."
