James Middleton has broken his social media silence after weeks of his followers checking in to see if he was okay.
The Princess of Wales's brother, 38, posted on Instagram on Easter Sunday, revealing he had deliberately stepped away from the platform for Lent.
"We are back," he wrote alongside a series of family photographs. "Many of you have been asking if I am ok. I have been absent from social media for a while. The truth is, this Lent I decided to give up social media (and it was wonderful)."
Mr Middleton used his return to advocate for digital detoxes, urging his audience to consider stepping away from their screens.

"Sometimes we don't fully realise the pressure social media puts on us until we take a step back," he observed, suggesting followers might try disconnecting for "a week, a month, or even longer."
He signed off by thanking those who had enquired after him during his absence, writing: "Anyhow... we're back! Alizée, Inigo, the dogs, and I are wishing you all a very Happy Easter and thank you for checking in on me."
His followers welcomed the message warmly, with one noting that time spent with loved ones and pets matters far more than online presence.
The post featured images from the family's rural Easter festivities with his two-year-old son, Inigo.

One image showed young Inigo perched on a stone wall dressed in dungarees, with the family's dogs gathered around him.
Another clip captured the toddler riding his bicycle down a country lane whilst his mother, Alizée Thevenet, ran beside him with one of their pets on a lead.
The most tender moment came in the final photograph, which showed grandmother Carole Middleton reading The Tale of Benjamin Bunny to her grandson.

Whilst Mr Middleton spent a quiet Easter with his immediate family, his sister Catherine attended the traditional service at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Mr Middleton met his French-born wife at a London private members' club in 2018.
Reflecting on that encounter in an interview with Hello!, he said: "If that moment hadn't been seized, I wouldn't have met my wife, I wouldn't have my beautiful son."
The pair wed in the south of France in 2021, with the ceremony taking place in Bormes-les-Mimosas. The Prince and Princess of Wales attended with their three children.
