The 12-year-old heir is expected to begin his next phase of education this September, with Eton widely considered the most likely destination.
Prince William himself attended Eton between 1995 and 2000, establishing a family precedent that many observers believe will influence the choice.
Sir Nicholas has previously expressed that he couldn't help feeling it "counted against" anyone who hadn't received an Eton education.

The Prince and Princess of Wales made a discreet visit to the institution in 2024, placing it firmly within the conversation about elite educational options for their children.
The Royal Family's interest in Eton extends beyond Prince George. Princess Beatrice was reportedly spotted visiting the college earlier this month, exploring it as an option for her 10-year-old stepson Wolfie.
The son of Beatrice's husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and his former partner Dara Huang, Wolfie could potentially join his royal cousin at the £63,298-per-year institution this autumn.
The school's location works well for the family, sitting just over an hour from Beatrice and Mr Mapelli Mozzi's £3.5million Cotswolds residence, where Wolfie spends time with his half-sisters, Sienna and Athena.
