Earl Spencer has appeared to snub his twin daughters Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza Spencer on their 33rd birthday by posting no public message, despite sharing other content on Instagram today.
The younger brother of the late Princess Diana posted a photograph of the library inside Althorp House and shared an article he wrote in the Financial Times about saving England's country houses.
His silence contrasts with the twins' own social media celebrations, where they shared childhood photographs and loving tributes to each other.
The Earl does occasionally write birthday posts, making today's omission particularly notable.

Lady Amelia marked the occasion by posting childhood photographs on social media, including a sepia-toned image of the twins wearing matching floral swimsuits.
"Happy birthday to my soulmate! @elizavspencer thank you for being my better half and my entire universe," she wrote. "My biggest gift in life is you!"
Lady Eliza responded in the comments: "My world happy happy birthday my everything."
The Earl's snub contrasts sharply with his previous birthday posts, including one on July 1 for what would have been Princess Diana's 64th birthday.

The absence of any acknowledgement of his daughters' milestone birthday appears particularly pointed given his other social media activity today.
The Earl's relationship with his twin daughters and elder daughter Lady Kitty has been strained for several years.
In 2023, Lady Amelia married Greg Mallett in South Africa, but the bride's father was noticeably absent from the ceremony.
