Catherine, the Princess of Wales, has posted a heartfelt tribute on social media to nature, something she is known for holding a deep love for.

The Instagram post marks the 56th iteration of Earth Day, a day celebrated across the world in support of environmental protection.

Six photos were included from her Mother Nature video documentary series, which followed the four seasons and explored nature’s remarkable ability to inspire, heal, and nurture growth across mind, body and spirit.

"When we listen to the rhythms of Mother Nature, we remember where we belong," the caption read.

The Duchess signed off with a trademark "C".

Throughout the Mother Nature project, the Princess sought to capture both the beauty and intricacy of human experience, drawing parallels with lessons found in the natural environment.

"To be at one with nature, a quiet teacher and a soft voice that guides... Helping us to heal," she said in a video previously released by Kensington Palace.

"I find myself reflecting on how deeply grateful I am."

The Princess of Wales is a known nature lover and it became a particularly important part of her life as she recovered from cancer.

Kate is now in remission from cancer, having announced her diagnosis on March 22, 2024.

The Princess of Wales previously described her treatment, which ended on September 9, 2024, as "quite a daunting experience", emphasising the crucial role of her inner circle and her ability to escape into nature during treatment.

She previously detailed how nature had become her "sanctuary" in the wake of her diagnosis and subsequent chemotherapy treatment.

During a visit to Colchester Hospital's Cancer Wellbeing Centre last year, the 44-year-old said cancer treatment is a "life-changing experience, both for the patient but also for the families as well".

"You have to find your new normal, and that takes time... and it's a rollercoaster; it's not one smooth plane, which you expect it to be. But the reality is it's not; you go through hard times," said Catherine.

The mother-of-three announced she was in remission from cancer on January 14, 2025.

Last year, as joint president of Scouts, Catherine took a trip to the Lake District to meet with a group of Scouts from Cumbria and Stretford, Greater Manchester.

"We really belong in nature," she said on the trip. "We're in tune with it, and I think we need to come back to it because there is definitely something about being in nature that’s connected to our well-being."

The Lake District played a prominent role in the Winter instalment of the Mother Nature series, with locations within Cumbria featured in the YouTube video.
