King Charles is "as happy as I've ever seen him," a royal commentator has claimed.
Robert Hardman, author of Elizabeth II: In Private. In Public. The Inside Story revealed to Marie Claire just how energetic the "workaholic" monarch is.
"He is, I would say, as happy as I've ever seen him," the author told the outlet.
The biographer noted the King demonstrates "a genuine sort of purpose and an energy" in carrying out his responsibilities, viewing the position as both an obligation, an attitude certainly passed from his mother, and something he genuinely relishes.

Mr Hardman says the King possesses a remarkable desire, adding: "He's never been shy of work."
His Majesty is "quite happy staying up all night" at his desk, willingly accepting additional paperwork without complaint.
And the King's delight in his role was evident during the centenary celebrations for his late mother earlier this week.

His Majesty later attended a grand celebration at Marble Hall in Buckingham Palace, commemorating what would be his mother's 100th birthday.
The King was spotted leading a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday for a group of men and women celebrating their 100th birthday.
The King and Queen Camilla assisted Mrs Hollingworth with cutting a cake prepared by palace pastry chefs, blazoned with the number 100 on it, and distributing it to the 190 guests.
Centenarians who share their birthday with the late Queen received personal cards from the King and Queen, while representatives from 45 of her beloved patronages were also present.
