Carole Middleton is "continuing to support" Kate with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, a Palace insider has claimed.

The Princess of Wales, 42, is likely to have been taken care of by her caring parents after leaving the London Clinic in January.

Prince William has been undertaking engagements sporadically, whilst also taking care of his wife at Adelaide Cottage.

Carole, 69, is thought to have been eagerly on hand to take care of her eldest daughter while she recuperates.

On Monday, Kate's mother was pictured driving a car with her daughter sitting in the passenger seat.

This was the first time the mother-of-three had been pictured since her abdominal surgery two months ago.

The unauthorised photos were published by the US gossip website TMZ, but not in the UK.

This is because Kensington Palace had previously appealed for Kate to be able to recuperate in private.

The exact details of the princess's condition have not been revealed by the Palace.

Kate's spokesperson previously said it was not cancer-related and that the royal wished her personal medical information to remain private.

A Palace insider has said that Carole and Michael Middleton, who only live a short drive away in Bucklebury, Berkshire, are already "an enduring factor in the upbringing of their grandchildren".

They continued to tell People: "And they will be a reassuring presence when she goes back to Windsor to recuperate."

Carole and Michael, 74, have long been known for their hands-on parenting approach.

Speaking to Tatler, insiders who knew the Middleton children at school said the family was notorious for "doing everything to the very highest of standards".

The insiders continued: "There were huge picnics on sports days, the smartest tennis rackets — that kind of thing.

"It made the rest of us all feel rather hopeless. Ultimately, Carole has played a blinder as a mother.

"Not only are all of her children unfairly good-looking, they are also famously charming.

"Always the first to write a thank-you letter, they dance all night and are still the first up in the morning, plumping cushions and washing up."

Carole has often been seen on hand to support her daughter at several high-profile royal events.

In 2022, Carole and Michael made a sombre appearance at Queen Elizabeth II's State Funeral.

They also attended the Coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey the year after.
