The bodyguards were seen shopping for the essentials

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's security team have been spotted with Sainsbury's and Tesco bags stuffed with large packs of beer.

The bodyguards, the same pair who drove the former Duke of York out of Aylsham police station on Thursday evening, were seen stocking up on essentials.

Meanwhile, a Waitrose van was spotted being stopped by police before it headed towards the area where the former prince resides.

Andrew was arrested on Thursday morning on suspicion of misconduct in public office and was released pending further investigation after 11 hours in custody.

The bodyguards left Wood Farm for a quick trip to the supermarkets in King's Lynn, Norfolk.

The pair appeared to both be carrying large packs of lager, with one security guard holding a Tesco bag full of goods.

They drove Andrew on Thursday evening after the former prince was released under investigation following his arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office over his ties to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew was pictured slouched in the back of a vehicle as he left Aylsham police station in Norfolk, roughly a one-hour car drive away from Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate.

His brother, King Charles, said that "the law must take its course" after expressing his "deepest concern" over the arrest, which came after millions of files were released by the US Department of Justice in relation to the Epstein scandal.

Thames Valley Police said he was released under investigation, and searches at a property in Norfolk, Andrew's home on the Sandringham Estate, had concluded.

Searches at his former address, the Royal Lodge in Windsor, Berkshire, are ongoing.

Andrew, who is eighth in line to the throne, was detained following allegations that he shared reports of official visits to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore with disgraced financier Epstein.

He has denied any wrongdoing over his Epstein links, but has not directly responded to the latest allegations.

An NPCC spokesman has told GB News that they alerted Home Office operational colleagues, as is routine practice, not Thames Valley Police.

The statement read: "In line with routine practice, the National Police Chiefs' Council alerted operational colleagues within the Home Office of the arrest. This gave 30 minutes' notice before Thames Valley Police made the arrest.

Neither the King nor Buckingham Palace was informed before the arrest, it is understood.

His majesty released a statement following the news, saying: "I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office.

"What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.

"In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course.

"As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all."

The Prince and Princess of Wales are understood to have supported the King's statement.
