The former Duke of York spent two decades living at Royal Lodge

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has still not moved into Marsh Farm, despite it being over a week since removal vans were pictured outside the property.

Since February 2, the former prince has been staying at Wood Farm, the former home of his late father, Prince Philip, while renovation work at Marsh Farm was being completed.

It comes after spending two decades living at Royal Lodge in Windsor, the 30-room home Mr Mountbatten-Windsor was forced to leave following an unceremonious eviction by King Charles.

The King withdrew Mr Mountbatten-Windsor's annual allowance and private security funding in 2024, leaving him responsible for the significant maintenance and security costs of the dilapidated mansion.

It later emerged that Mr Mountbatten-Windsor had paid only a "peppercorn" rent for decades, which raised public and political concerns about the transparency of the deal with the Crown Estate and the use of public funds.

Ahead of the former duke's temporary move to Wood Farm, renovation work began at Marsh Farm on January 15, 2026.

Tradesmen were spotted driving fence posts into the ground to replace old wire fencing with a robust six-foot wooden barrier.

The fencing and security gates were officially completed on March 13, which effectively screened the property from the public road ahead of the scheduled move-in.

Along with the physical barrier, the property has been fitted with CCTV cameras and new security lighting.

Removal vans were spotted at Marsh Farm throughout the week of March 17, delivering furniture, artwork, and personal items.

Three large blue lorries from Gander & White, a company holding a Royal Warrant that specialises in transporting fine art, were seen pulling into the driveway.

The removal lorries were followed by a Tesco delivery van, believed to be bringing kitchen essentials ahead of his arrival.

Additional removals staff were seen carrying boxes into the property on March 20, some of which were notably still labelled with "HRH" despite Mr Mountbatten-Windsor being stripped of that title.

As of yet, Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has not officially moved into Marsh Farm, despite being photographed behind the wheel of his green Range Rover on Wednesday with his bodyguard.

Crews are understood to have been working "round the clock" on "finishing touches," including internal decorating, kitchen installations, and fitting carpets.

Because Marsh Farm is significantly smaller than Royal Lodge, there was no space for round-the-clock security staff.

To solve this, a large white mobile home was delivered on March 2323 and installed behind a stable block to house his protection team.

It is also thought that his move-in timeline was disrupted following his arrest on suspicion of public misconduct on February 19.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor was released on investigation that evening and has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

GB News has contacted Mr Mountbatten-Windsor regarding an official move-in date to Marsh Farm.
