Former acquaintance Lisa Walker says her friends were left feeling 'uncomfortable'

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor made "grossly distasteful and lewd comments" on nights out, it has been claimed.

In 2000, American Lisa Walker was in her 20s, living in London, and socialising with Andrew.

She had begun working at Aurelia Cecil’s PR agency, who had been dating the then-prince, and met friend Caroline Stanbury, whom he was also later rumoured to court, though she denies this.

While meeting Andrew over drinks and food with friends, Mrs Walker detailed to The Times how, halfway through dinner, Mr Mountbatten-Windsor had introduced his friends to the group - a "middle-aged couple who had just got off a private jet from America".

It was then that she met Jeffrey Epstein, she wrote in the newspaper.

Mrs Walker detailed a chilling encounter with Epstein, who had promised to help her extend her visa and stay in London.

When meeting Epstein in a dingy Belgravia flat, he had made strange advances, and she claims he was "trying to take off my shirt".

Despite this, Mrs Walker met the former Duke of York on multiple occasions, and was invited round to his home near Windsor for parties, drinks and food.

"The prince invited a small group of us to Sunninghill Park — his home near Windsor — for swimming, tea and dinner," she wrote.

"He just seemed to want to make friends. I never saw any bad behaviour on his part."

She added that Andrew "seemed to like" her friend, Caroline, and "wanted to make a good impression on her".

However, her experience with the former prince was not shared by some of her pals.

"Other friends had been out with [Andrew] and said that he had made grossly distasteful and lewd comments that left them uncomfortable because he was a member of the royal family, and they held him in high regard," Mrs Walker wrote.

Thames Valley Police revealed earlier this week they were examining claims that Mr Mountbatten-Windsor acted inappropriately towards a woman during Royal Ascot, just two years following Mrs Walker's alleged interactions.

The alleged incident in 2002 is reported to have occurred during the five-day racing festival in Berkshire, which the late Queen Elizabeth II attended as part of her Golden Jubilee celebrations alongside other senior members of the Royal Family.

Detectives are pursuing this matter as part of their wider investigation into misconduct in public office involving the former working royal.

A force spokeswoman stated this weekend: "We cannot go into specifics of our ongoing investigation, but we are following all reasonable lines of inquiry."

Specialist officers from Thames Valley Police continue to speak with several witnesses as the force assesses several alleged offences linked with misconduct in public office relating to Andrew’s period as UK trade envoy, between 2001 and 2011.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested in February 2026 on suspicion of misconduct in public office, where he is alleged to have shared information with Epstein. He has continuously denied any wrongdoing.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor has been approached for comment.
