Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been placed under stringent restrictions at Wood Farm, his temporary residence on the Sandringham estate, following his detention last week on suspicion of misconduct in public office, it has been claimed
The former prince has remained out of sight since returning to the cottage, where his late father Prince Philip spent his final years, after being released from Aylsham police station in Norfolk following 11 hours of police questioning.
The 66-year-old is now said to be facing tight controls on his daily actions, with claims emerging that he requires both permission and an accompanying chaperone before leaving the estate grounds.
Reports in the i newspaper claim that visitors wishing to see the former prince must receive advance approval before being granted access to Wood Farm.

Additionally, horse riding, an activity Mr Mountbatten-Windsor frequently enjoyed during his time at the considerably larger Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate, has been prohibited.
Sources suggest the ban on riding stems from concerns about the "bad look" such outings would create whilst the police investigation continues.
Thames Valley Police confirmed earlier this week that searches of his former Royal Lodge residence had concluded after lasting several days.
The former prince spent 11 hours in custody on his birthday following allegations he passed sensitive information to Jeffrey Epstein during his tenure as UK trade envoy.
A source told the Sun: "Since his arrest last week he has been ordered not to go horse riding. It’s considered a bad look.
"They don’t think he should be seen grinning and smiling on his horse like he was in Windsor.

Mr Mountbatten-Windsor voluntarily surrendered his gun licence last year, ending another of his hobbies.

Ministers agreed on Thursday to release documents relating to Mr Mountbatten-Windsor's appointment as trade envoy, though MPs were cautioned that material required by police cannot be made public until investigators give their approval.
A new fence has been spotted outside of Andrew's long term residence, Marsh Farm, as renovations continue ahead of his arrival.
The property has been undergoing renovations ahead of the former Duke of York’s move, which is expected to be in April.
A security fence has been completed around Marsh Farm | PAWorkmen were seen installing the fence on Tuesday, as pick-up trucks and supplies were visible throughout the driveway.
Work appeared to be completed by Thursday, as a tall wooden fence could be seen.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has always strongly denied any allegations.
