Donald Trump has claimed to have stopped three nuclear wars as he laid down a message to Russia over atomic weapons.
Mr Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to make a defiant statement about the US military and its nuclear capabilities.
He said: “I have stopped nuclear wars from breaking out across the world between Pakistan and India, Iran and Israel, and Russia and Ukraine.”
India, however, has denied the US played a part in the ceasefire between it and Pakistan, which was enacted last year.

India’s defence minister Rajnath Singh said last year it was “completely incorrect and baseless to say that the military action was stopped because of pressure”.
Last year’s ceasefire between Iran and Israel commenced on June 24 last year, Mr Trump confirmed - again, on Truth Social.
Although both sides denied that a ceasefire was agreed to, one was held nonetheless.
In response to the ceasefire announcement, Iran’s foreign minister Abbas Araghchi last year said: “As of now, there is NO ‘agreement’ on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations.”

The war between Russia and Ukraine continues, but has not become nuclear - despite Russia's threats.
Mr Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met last month to discuss peace plans, with both sides hailing progress, but disputes remain over how much territory Ukraine will cede to Russia.
The Ukrainian President said the peace plan was “90 per cent ready” earlier this year.

Mr Trump also addressed the The Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, also known as New Start, which expired on Wednesday.
New Start limited the number of nuclear warheads Russia and the US were allowed to hold, and was signed in 2010 by former presidents Barack Obama and Dmitry Medvedev.
He said: “Rather than extend New Start (A badly negotiated deal by the United States that, aside from everything else, is being grossly violated), we should have our nuclear experts work on a new, improved, and modernised treaty that can last long into the future.”

Russia has suggested western Europe’s nuclear powers, the UK and France, should also be included in the treaty.
The statement also said: “The United States is the most powerful Country in the World. I completely rebuilt its Military in my First Term, including new and many refurbished nuclear weapons.”
During his first term, Mr Trump invested more into new nuclear warheads than his predecessors.
