The US President heaped praise on the countries which attended his Gaza peace summit in Egypt

Donald Trump has invited Sir Keir Starmer up onto the stage during his keynote address at the Gaza peace summit in Egypt.

Heaping praise on the attending countries at the summit, the US President gave a shoutout to Britain, inviting the Prime Minister to join him.


Looking for Sir Keir, Mr Trump asked: "Where is the United Kingdom?! Where is our friend?"

The US President looked around his lineup of world leaders as Sir Keir coyly waved his hand, grabbing Mr Trump's attention.

Mr Trump then invited Sir Keir up to the podium, asking the Prime Minister: "Is everything going good?"

Sir Keir responded: "Yes, very good."

The US President then praised Sir Keir for showing his support for the deal, telling the Prime Minister: "It's very nice that you're here."

Mr Trump proceeded to thank all world leaders in attendance at the summit, stood behind him during his address.

Thanking the leaders, Mr Trump told the world's media: "These people all came in, like 20 minutes notice, and I think it's fantastic."

Citing his Israel-Gaza peace deal, Mr Trump said: "And we have so many others and just so many others.

"And it's such a complement to what we're doing, because what we've done is something very unique and very special.

"So it's perhaps the wealthiest and most powerful group of nations ever assembled at one time, which is a big thing we have achieved together in recent days, a change that really is historic and it's going to be remembered forever."

Thanking his own administration for their efforts in securing the deal, Mr Trump gave a special mention to Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

He stated: "And I want to thank the American team for their amazing work, and I want to thank Marco.

"I think he'll go down as the greatest Secretary of State in the history of our country.

"I really believe that, Mark or I wouldn't say it. Marco Rubio, I wouldn't say it... maybe I would."
