Bev revealed: "If I have to describe the atmosphere amongst the group who are here from the White House, I would say it's pretty subdued on this occasion.
"It is hard to overstate how significant the death of Charlie Kirk has been to this administration. Most of the people who work closely with President Trump were good friends of Charlie Kirk, and the President came down last night on the airplane to say hello to the press, and he definitely didn't look as jolly as I have seen him before."
Pointing out the upcoming funeral of Mr Kirk following the President's State Visit, Bev added: "He didn't look particularly happy, he looked a bit tired and worn out because of course, when he gets back from here on Thursday, the funeral of Charlie Kirk, which him and his family are all attending, will be on Saturday in Arizona.
"But before then, we have to get through this state visit. And what a remarkable occasion for England and for America and for this relationship."
