Nigel Farage has launched a scathing attack on Labour's "Oxbridge careerists" for claiming he "doesn't want them to succeed" in stopping Britain's migrant crisis.
Speaking to GB News in a sit down interview with Political Editor Christopher Hope, the Reform UK leader declared he is only in the job because he believes he can make a difference.
Quizzed by Christopher on Shabana Mahmood's asylum system crackdown, Mr Farage was pressed on whether he believes the Home Secretary has "eaten his lunch".
Mr Farage laughed, stating: "Oh, I've heard that phrase before!

"You remember when David Cameron promised a referendum? That's it, it's all over for Ukip.
"We won the European elections the year afterwards."
Vowing that he "wishes her well" in successfully curbing the migration crisis, the Reform leader said of the Home Secretary: "All she does is validate our position, particularly with the rhetoric that she was using."
Mr Farage added: "I'll vote for measures if I think they're actually going to work, let's see how it all gets amended.

"And let's bear in mind that all the while we have the Human Rights Act, all the while we're signed up to the ECHR, all the while we have the judges and the judiciary in our post-Blair world that we've got. Would I vote for something that I don't think can work? Unlikely."
Pressed again on whether he wants the current Government to "succeed" in their plans, the Reform leader stated: "I'd love a British Government to control our borders, make us wealthy - I wouldn't need to bother then, would I?"
Senior Labour figures have accused the Reform UK leader of not wanting the Government to succeed, something Mr Farage denies.
He said: "You've got to remember, those people you're dealing with, yu're dealing with Oxbridge careerists, I'm not. I don't need this job.
"I'm doing this because I believe I can make a difference."

Christopher interjected Mr Farage, telling the Reform leader: "You want them to fail so you can become PM in 2029?!"
Hitting back at Christopher, hit stated: "That's your mindset, that's how you all think. I'm not like that. That's how they all think, because they're all from the same circle of people.
"I am in politics to do something, not to be something. And if they do all of it in the next few years, I won't personally be needed."
Christopher then swiped: "So you'll retire, happily? That's absolute nonsense!"
Mr Farage concluded: "You know it's not going to happen."
