Figures showed Reform UK leading with 34 per cent support, whilst the Conservatives languished behind at just 21 per cent

Ellie Costello challenged Conservative MP Matt Vickers with devastating polling data that places his party in fifth position among UK voters.

During their exchange, Ellie cited figures showing Reform UK leading with 34 per cent support, whilst the Conservatives languished at just 21 per cent.

Recent polling data reveals a dramatically shifted political landscape, with YouGov's latest survey placing Reform UK at 28 per cent support amongst voters.

Labour has plummeted to just 20 per cent, marking the party's weakest performance since 2019, before Sir Keir Starmer assumed leadership.

On GB News today, Ellie said: "The last poll that came out yesterday put Reform on top at 34 per cent.

"The Greens, Labour, Lib Dems so the Conservative Party is down in fifth place at 21 per cent.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

"What's your response to that? It seems as though nobody is listening to or even watching what the Conservative Party is doing at the moment."

Mr Vickers replied: "I haven't seen that, but the reality is we took a grubbing at the last general election. We were never going to turn it around overnight.

"We're coming forward with policies now we've got the deportation bill in place, a piece of legislation that we've written.

"Not a press release or a tweet, but an actual piece of legislation that, if adopted tomorrow, would help solve this immigration issue."

He added: "The reality is we are being heard.

"We did deserve the grubbing we got, but we need to listen to people, we need to rebuild and we are out there doing just that.

"Kemi was up here the other day looking at what we’ve delivered on the ground in terms of jobs, in terms of taking our local communities forward.

"We've got to get on with that job and make sure we’re being heard."

This also represents Labour's lowest approval rating in six years, with only one-fifth of voters indicating they would support the party in a future election.

The governing party now sits just three percentage points ahead of the Conservatives, whilst Reform UK maintains its position at the top of voter preferences.
