The alert is said to have concerned "possible small air targets" near to the border between Romania and Ukraine.
The Romanian Defence Ministry said the Nato state had scrambled fighter jets following the airspace breach - the second time it has done so in a week.
On Wednesday, November 19, Romania scrambled two Eurofighters and later two Romanian F-16 fighter jets after a drone breached its airspace during a Russian attack on Ukrainian infrastructure close to the border.
The defence ministry said it first picked up the signal of a drone 8km inside national airspace, near the villages of Periprava and Chilia Veche in Tulcea County.

The drone signal disappeared off the radar before reappearing intermittently for 12 minutes near villages in Galati county, it added.
The ministry confirmed at the time it had received no reports of drones hitting ground in Romanian territory.
Romania, which shares a 650 km (400 mile) border with Ukraine, has seen Russian drone fragments fall on its territory repeatedly as Moscow attacks Ukrainian port infrastructure across the river Danube from the Nato country.
In the latest attack overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes on Kyiv killed at least four people, the head of the Ukrainian capital's military administration, Tymur Tkachenko, said today.
