The Foreign Office issued its advice to ensure they get all their necessary vaccines

Britons have been warned of new information about entering China as the Asian holiday spot makes a series of changes.

The updated information from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has warned travellers of the changes.

The FCDO warned Britons: "You may need to pass through medical screening on entry into China.

"This may be body temperature scanning, or more rarely testing such as throat or nasal swabs, blood tests or medical examinations."

The FCDO also explained that due to the recent changes to China's 'Frontier Health and Quarantine Laws', holidaymakers may be refused entry "if you do not comply with the screening measures".

Travellers will now need to ensure that they have all the necessary vaccinations before entering.

The FCDO said: "To enter China, you must have a certificate to prove you've had a yellow fever vaccination if you're coming from a country listed as a transmission risk.

"For full details about medical entry requirements and recommended vaccinations, see TravelHealthPro's China guide."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

For those planning on travelling across the large country, individuals have been warned about the China-Myanmar border due to ongoing violence.

The FCDO noted: "There is continuing violence on the Myanmar side of the China-Myanmar border, which has occasionally spilled over into China.

"In early 2024, the Chinese authorities reported artillery shells from Myanmar had injured residents and damaged structures within its territory in Yunnan province, prompting increased armed patrols along the border."

The news follows the FCDO issuing a travel warning for Vietnam as the country braces for Storm Wipha.

The FCDO warned the storm is on approach to northern Vietnam, bringing a threat of flooding and travel disruption.

Tourist hotspots, including Ha Long Bay, Ha Noi, and Ninh Binh, are forecast to be affected.

The FCDO said: "You should expect heavy rainfall, strong winds, flooding and mudslides in affected areas in the days after landfall.

"You should expect travel disruption and should follow advice from local authorities."
