A man has been arrested and faces federal charges after he allegedly went on carjacking rampage which killed two women and left a child seriously injured.
Prosecutors said Edward Tiki Arrington, 45, attempted multiple carjackings, and succeeded in one on September 4.
The 45-year old is accused of stealing a Black Volkswagen Passat at gunpoint and racing the wrong way through North Minneapolis, sparking a police chase.
The US Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota said on Friday that officers attempted to stop Mr Arrington as he drove away, but the suspect fled before heading in the direction of Minneapolis' downtown.

The authorities have said the accused ran through a red light at an intersection, where he crashed at high speed into a blue Ford Focus sedan.
The crash killed Marisa Ardys Casebolt, 25, and Liberty Borg, 25, Fox 9 Minneapolis has reported.
Prosecutors have said a 6-year-old boy, who was the child of one of the women killed, has sustained traumatic brain injuries alongside bilateral femur fractures.
US Attorney Joseph Thompson said: "Two young women should be alive today. Instead, their lives were cut short by a senseless crime committed by a career criminal.

Hennepin County District Court has also charged Mr Arrington with three felony counts of fleeing a police officer.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said: "This violent suspect had an extensive criminal history and showed a complete disregard for the value of human life.
