Police have launched an urgent investigation after they responded to an incident at JD Vance's Cincinnati home on Monday morning.
According to local media, the suspect is in custody.
One local media outlet, who say they were at the scene, are reporting several broken windows.
Secret service agents were also present, though they have since left.

Footage from American broadcaster WLWT 5 shows police officers approaching the window that has clearly been broken.
Officers were said to have been at the house for "several hours" overnight, going in and out of the building, though have only confirmed to American sources that "they have a suspect".
It is unclear if the person is in custody, whether they have charged the suspect.
A statement is likely to be made later in the morning.

He is then said to have returned to his Cincinnati home after watching the situation in Venezuela unfold.
It is not known if the Vice President was in the property with his family at the time of the incident.
Increased security measures had been taken around Mr Vance's home in recent days, with road closures in East Walnut Hills.

Locals are said to have seen an increased law enforcement presence at various checkpoints in the area, while those who live within the closure zone were able to access their homes through one of three marked security checkpoints.
Police urged residents to "factor in extra time when traveling as a result of these security measures".
The measures lasted between December 29 and January 4, meaning the incident occurred almost immediately after restrictions were lifted.
The property, which overlooks the Ohio river, is owned by Mr Vance.
The 2.3-acre development cost the Vice President a whopping $1.4million.
Mr Vance and his wife Usha own a home in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington DC, and owned one in Alexandria, Virginia.
They also moved into the Vice President’s home in January 2025 following Donald Trump’s inauguration.
